DESCRIPTION:Join the Rocky River Chamber for our April Chamber Luncheon\, sponsored by The Normandy Senior Living!\n\n\n\nOur guest speakers with be a dynamic duo from the Diversity Center\, President & CEO\, Peggy Zone-Fisher and Director of Justice\, Equity\, Diversity\, and Inclusion (JEDI) Programs\, Caitlin Hawkins. We will gather virtually for their present\, "Exploring Identity."\n\n\n\nMore about "Exploring Identity:"\n\nEach person's unique identities shape their experiences and impact their day-to-day interactions with others.  Understanding our own identities and how these identities act as a lens that impact how we see the world and how the world sees us can help us begin to understand and recognize our own biases.  We will introduce the work of the Diversity Center of Northeast Ohio and go through our Identity Wheel activity to help participants consider their own identities and the identities of others.\n\n\n\nLearn more about our presenters:\n\n\n\nMeet Peggy Zone-Fisher\, President & CEO\n\nPeggy Zone -Fisher has led The Diversity Center since 2006 and has been a Cleveland business and community leader for over 30 years. She served as the President and Owner of Zone Travel\, Inc. one of Greater Cleveland's largest woman-owned businesses.  Peggy was nationally recognized when President Bill Clinton appointed her as one of 11 National Commissioners of the White House Conference on Small Business.  As a U.S. Small Business Commissioner\, Peggy traveled the country convening forums with business leaders about small business issues.\n\n \n\nThe Women Business Owners Association honored her as one of the "Top 20 Women Business Owners in Northeast Ohio". She has received the YWCA Woman of Achievement Award as a Business and Industry Entrepreneur\, the Captain Cleveland Award from the Convention and Visitors Bureau of Greater Cleveland\, and was the first recipient of the Today's Woman of Achievement Award from the Altrusa Club of Cleveland. Peggy also served on United Way's President's Council for Small Business Administration Leaders and the Leadership Council of the Council of Smaller Enterprises (COSE).  Peggy received the 2008 Appeal for Human Relations "Distinguished Leadership Award" from the American Jewish Committee and in 2009\, the Community Service Award from the Cleveland Clinic Hospitals   Western Region and the Community West Foundation.  \n\n\n\nPeggy has served on more than a dozen community boards such as AIDS Taskforce of Greater Cleveland\, Community West Foundation\, Neighborhood Progress\, Inc.\, and Adoption by Gentle Care\, just to name a few.   She currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Cleveland Clinic Hospitals-Western Region.  She is a Member of the Diversity Advisory Council for the MetroHealth Medical Center\, and a Member of the Membership Impact Committee for the Greater Cleveland Partnership. \n\n\n\nMeet Caitlin Hawkins\, MSSA\, MNO\n\nAs a community social worker\, Caitlin (she/her) is passionate about creative\, authentic engagement in workplaces and communities. Her educational and professional experiences lead her to the understanding that relationships matter\, and that relationships with people who are different from ourselves provide opportunities for immense growth and collaboration\, as long as we know how to harness those connections.\n\n\n\nIn her role at The Diversity Center\, Caitlin leads a team that works alongside businesses and organizations through every step of the consulting process and engages staff in customized workshops around the topics of Diversity\, Equity\, and Inclusion. Caitlin works with the express intention of facilitating the growth of inclusive and equitable workplaces.
