Caroline James is a part of this dedicate team, serving as the Business Development Specialist. She spends time meeting with companies in the community to educate them on services offered at Independence Village of Avon Lake and how they can work together to help seniors transition into Senior Living.

Independence Village of Avon Lake’s services include Independent living, assisted living and memory care.
    - Independent Living is designed for individuals who want the privacy of an apartment home with the added benefit of meals, housekeeping, maintenance, transportation, social and recreational activities, group outings, fitness programs, health and wellness opportunities, educational seminars and optional healthcare services should the need arise.
    - Assisted Living is designed to promote the greatest independence for seniors by providing assistance with everyday activities in a secured, licensed setting. Residents enjoy all the benefits of Independent Living while trained professionals provide medication administration and coordinate with residents’ personal doctors, pharmacists, and other healthcare providers as needed.
    - Memory Care is designed for seniors living with dementia. Assistance is provided in a secured, licensed, specifically designed environment. Staff is trained in overcoming the challenges associated with memory impairments and specialized programming ensures comfort while promoting the greatest dignity, independence and success.

Caroline is proud to work with the Intendance Village team, with over 35 years in this industry. Their passion is providing exceptional service to residents. She shares, “comfort and convenience are our number-one priority. From our outstanding residences to our numerous amenities, we always go above and beyond. And that includes taking excellent care of our residents—being as hands-on or as hands-off as you want. We’ll make dinner if you’re not in the mood to cook. Need a hand getting groceries or doing laundry? Let us—it’s truly our pleasure to help. It’s what we’re here for.”

Caroline chose to join the Rocky River Chamber as a resident of our community. She had hopes of getting involved and connecting with fellow members to learn about what they do and why they do it. “I know this chamber provides great opportunities to connect one another, especially those of us who work in senior living and/or help seniors,” Caroline expresses. She continues to utilize her membership to connect senior centers, churches, hospitals, rehabs, elder law attorneys, and more!

Working in a senior living facility can be emotional and challenging, especially though the COVID-19 pandemic. However, Caroline remains inspired by her Yiayia (grandma in Greek) and the residents living with Alzheimer’s disease. Her grandma is the reason she started her career in senior living. She quickly found her passion for helping seniors make the last years of their life the best years of their life. And, her goal in life is to continue to fight for a world without Alzheimer’s.

FUN FACTS about Caroline :: She was born and raised in North Canton, Ohio, but currently reside in Rocky River with my boyfriend Max. Caroline enjoys trying out new Cleveland restaurants with friends and family, playing tennis and taking walks at the Rocky River Reservation. Two of her favorite spots in Cleveland are Georgetown and Rocky River Wine Bar [both Chamber members!] and both are walkable from their house!
