Since he started working at the age of 14, Joe Chrien has always been a hard worker, no matter the job. He is inspired by those around him, including his clients, because building those relationships is key. Making his clients happy is all the inspiration he needs – which is why his position at Sonesta ES Suites Cleveland-Westlake is such a perfect fit for him!
Joe serves as the Director of Sales at Sonesta ES Suites Cleveland-Westlake. It is a welcoming, surprisingly different hotel where guests can easily work, play and gather to form their own unique and unexpected experience. Joe’s role at Sonesta is to work closely with the sales team to assure clients have a safe and comfortable place to stay, as well as work with local business to build and grow long lasting relationships.
At Sonesta, the have a surprisingly different take on all-suite, extended-stay accommodations. Amidst a pleasant and inviting ambience, each room overlooks our unique, park-like setting and has been thoughtfully designed to ensure you a comfortable stay.
Sonesta is an international hotel chain, and the Rocky River Chamber is honored to have their membership into our local organization. And, this year, Joe is proud to share that Sonesta ES Suites is growing exponentially! Recently, Sonesta has grown from 100 to nearly 300 hotels, BUT- this year they are on target to reach 1,200 locations – WOW!
One might ask “why is such a large, established company part of a local chamber of commerce?” Joe is happy to answer that, “being new to the market [in 2019], I knew joining a chamber would help build local relationships, but it wasn’t until a colleague told me to reach out to Angela about joining the RRCC. I set up a meeting with Angela and joined immediately. From that point on I have been on a few committees, including the Christmas and Golf committees, and active as I can at other events.”

As Joe mentioned, he jumped right in to get involved! He serves on volunteer committees for the Golf Outing and Christmas Party. Additionally, Joe signed up Sonesta of the Chamber’s annual Expo in Fall of 2019. “I also really enjoy the Business Expo as it is a way to meet many people within the chamber, local businesses and others in the community,” Joe shares.
The Chamber hosts to host their 18th Annual Business Expo again this Fall 2021, after taking a hiatus in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Save-the-date for Thurs., Oct. 14 and meet Joe there, if not before! And, watch for updates about Expo here.
FUN FACTS about Joe :: Joe lives in Cuyahoga Falls with my wife and 3 kids (8 year old son and 5 year old fraternal twins). He has been head soccer coach in Cuyahoga Falls for three years and looking forward too many more “W’s” to come! Whenever he and his wife have the opportunity to sneak away – their vacation of choice is Las Vegas or a cruise!
