Mike Detling has a passion for music, and this has led him to a career at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Detling serves as the Manager of Sales for the museum that recently underwent a $25+ million renovation, which started in 2016. The space now includes an activated exterior plaza, interactive exhibits/theaters and more. If you haven’t visited the Rock Hall recently, these upgrades “warrant a trip back,” Detling encourages.
In his role, Detling has the opportunity to “sell” the space for special events, including dinners, weddings, one-of-a-kind meetings, and anything in-between. Even if you do not have an event to book, check out their event calendar; the plaza features over 60 days of live music this summer!
The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame is one of Cleveland’s top-rated tourist destinations, and it’s easy to see how there is never a dull-day for Detling at the museum. He finds inspiration in Rock Hall CEO, Greg Harris. “The things he’s done with the museum in just a few years is amazing… transforming every space and really bringing the building to life. He’s very involved and extremely supportive,” Detling said.
“When I started at the museum, I was asked to join a few chambers. I grew up in Fairview Park so I started investigating ones on the west side and Rocky River was quickly recommended by many as being one of the best,” Delting shares. He has been a member of the RRCC for over 4 years, and his favorite event – “I’d have to say I’m partial to the Libations Tour!”
