Born and raised in Rocky River, Penny is a proud and involved member of the Rocky River Chamber of Commerce. She joined in the Fall of 2013 just two months after she opened her company, The Proficient Office.  The Proficient Office offers the highest level of bookkeeping and office management solutions to small businesses. Penny travels Northeast Ohio and throughout the country to offer top customer service to her clients.

Penny’s experience is vast, having served as both an Office Manager and Controller in industries such as Interior Design, Software Development, and Insurance Brokerage; previously, her career even took her to Las Vegas! But, after living away from a handful of years, Penny couldn’t help but returned to Northeastern Ohio in 2012 and move to Lakewood, where she now resides.

Upon moving back, she joined the Chamber after looking into a handful of other networking organizations. “I felt that the Chamber was the best fit for my business and personality. The members were friendly, interesting, and were more than happy to approach a "stranger" and introduce themselves,” said Penny.

Penny feels the Chamber has met her expectations, specifically with the networking opportunities offered, as they have allowed her to build my business over the past five years. Through the Chamber, she has created a referral network for herself and her clients – all while having a great time meeting so many of our members!

One of Penny’s favorite events hosted by the Chamber is the annual Libations Tour hosted each Fall [mark your calendar for Thursday, Sept. 12, 2019!]. “I enjoy the casual atmosphere and, of course, the food and drinks. I feel that each year I connect with a member who I may not have met at one of the other events – expanding my networking circle,” said Penny.

FUN FACT about Penny: She has a packed year ahead, “in 2019 I am looking forward to European travel, expanding my business, having another great backyard garden, cooking many great things, and spending time with the people who matter most in my life!”
