George Lichman has served the City of Rocky River as a Police Officer since 1998, working as a Patrol Officer, Sergeant (2011), Lieutenant (2015), and Chief (2020). He graduated from Eastern Michigan University with a BS in Public Law & Government and became an Ohio Association of Chiefs of Police Law Enforcement Foundation Certified Law Enforcement Executive in 2020, earning the Chief Michael C. Kallai Award for Academic Performance and Service to Profession and Community. He teaches basic and advanced training at the Tri-C Public Safety Training Center and consults for police promotional assessment centers nationally.
George is a board member of a Voluntary Employee Benefits Association that provides health care to retired Ford patternmakers. He is an avid reader and leads book discussions at the Rocky River Public Library and reviews books for Library Journal.
